Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

BCCA: High School Dress Code

boy in classroom, dress code

Guiding Principle

The dress code at The Academies is intended to encourage students to make appropriate clothing choices that honor God and respect the school environment. As such, clothing should not be used as a significant means of attracting attention, establishing self-identity, or marking social status. While generally casual, the objective of The Academies’ dress code is to provide an environment in which clothing does not notably detract from the social learning situation.

Violations

Final decisions concerning whether a student’s clothing meets dress code guidelines are at the discretion of school administration. Upon determination that a student’s clothing infringes upon these guildelines, administration may verbally warn the student against any recurrence of the infraction or directly contact the student’s parent or guardian to require a change of clothing before admitting the student to class. Habitually recurring or particularly egregious infractions may be deemed issues of conduct and addressed accordingly.
