Sam Barnhart: BCCA Graduate 2011


Senior at University of South Carolina studying Sports Management

Since graduating BCCA in 2011, Samantha has been to Mexico and Greece for mission trips as well as serving as a volunteer for Camp Joy. Sam graduated from Hickory Ridge High School and is at University of South Carolina studying Sports Management.

Sophomore UNC Chapel Hill

John graduated from BCCA in 2010, then from Cannon School in 2014.  In 2012 he directed a fundraiser for orphaned children in Ghana, culminating in a concert that raised money for The Father’s House, an orphanage in Ghana near Lake Volta. In 2013 he traveled to India on a medical missions trip and produced a video documentary of this journey, John is
currently a sophomore at UNC Chapel Hill majoring in marketing and advertising. In his extra time, John plays guitar and piano for CRU, also assists in running sound and has led worship for many retreats. He attends The Vintage Church, where he runs sound every Sunday for their worship team. 

Sam Lopane: BCCA Graduate 2009

Started his own Granola company

Sam is a Food Science major and has maintained a 4.0 through all of throughout his college career. He is the Production Director for the Worship at Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at Clemson. They have over 800 students a week at worship. It is the largest FCA in the country


Jared Stewart: BCCA Graduate 2009


Junior at Lee University

Jared was the winner of the Theology Department’s Greek Award at Lee University for superior academic performance in the first two semesters of New Testament Greek class, spring 2015. He is also a Teacher’s Assistant for a Professor of Old Testament in the Department of Theology, School of Religion.



Jennifer Barnhart: BCCA Graduate 2008


Aveda Institute

Since graduating BCCA Jennifer has been on numerous missions trips and an active volunteer at Camp Joy. She is currently a leader at Vizion Church’s UNCC campus ministry (C4).  She is graduating from Aveda Institute in Charlotte February 2016.

Senior at Appalachian State studying Sustainable Development

Matt graduated from BCCA in 2008, then from Cannon School in 2012. Matt traveled to India in 2013 on a medical missions trip where he impacted the lives of many teenage boys in villages, playing sports and encouraging them spiritually. Matt is a drummer and directed a fundraiser in high school to raise money for underprivileged kids, providing funds for musical instruments for children in local schools. Matt is a senior at Appalachian State University, majoring in Sustainable Development with a minor in geography. Matt is active at The Heart Church, where he plays drums on the worship team and runs audiovisual as well. 

Sarah Rebekah Ballard: BCCA Graduate 2008


Studying at Appalachian State 


Bekah Ballard is an English Education major at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. She is currently doing her student teaching at North Wilkesboro in 10th and 11th grade English. Bekah works at Mast General store in Boone and enjoys outdoor activities. She attends Alliance Church in Boone. She has been a volunteer counselor at Camp Joy, a camp for disabled adults, for 7 of the last 8 summers. She is looking forward to her career as a teacher. Bekah attributes her strong writing skills and her love for reading to her time spent as a student at BCCA.

Elizabeth Anne Ballard: BCCA Graduate 2006


Graduate from Elon University

Liz graduated with honors from Elon University in 2014 where she was awarded a Communications Fellowship. She is currently studying health care communications and serving as a Teaching/Graduate Assistant at UNCC. Liz attends Hope City church. Last year she served as a yearlong volunteer with the Cancer Society of America, assisting in their fall fundraising gala.
